Things to consider when buying an underground
dog fence:
- To humans your underground dog fence will be invisible. Fence like that can frighten people passing by when they see what appears to be an unrestrained dog.
- Dangerous breeds or dogs with known aggression problems should not be trusted to an invisible fencing solution alone; a physical restraint or fence should also be used.
- Most (if not all) of our fences have adjustable correction levels, and will even
warn with an audible tone first. Once your dog knows the boundary they should
never go near it.
- Flags help your dog learn if you don't have a physical
boundary like a normal fence.
- The wire can be shortened, or spliced together if a longer boundary is needed. We recommend 16 gauge wire as
it is more durable and carries a signal better.
- If you have a small dog one thing you need to check is neck size. Most of the normal collars fit 8 inches around, though some fit 6 inches.
