When you buy foods for your children, looking at the back label has already been a standard procedure. However, when you go to a local pet store to buy food for your dogs, you rush into the bargain section and grab a 50-pounder bag of feeds for $10 or sometimes even less. You wouldn't even spare a moment to check for the dog food ingredients.

Click here to read more of A Warning On Some Dog Food Ingredients

All commercial pet food is regulated by the AAFCO. This agency sets the standards and does the testing on the ingredients that pet food manufacturers use in their food products. Because of the number of different food products and ingredients used, these standards can be somewhat vague. This gives manufacturers much leeway in meeting up to these standards. So having the AAFCO stamp of approval on a dog food label does not mean that the ingredients used to make that product are good for our dogs.

Click here to read more of Dog Food Labels - How to Interpret Them

As pet owners we are constantly looking for the best diet that would provide the proper dog food nutrition. Most dog owners today have chosen to feed their pets a commercial dog food brand believing that this will provide the necessary nutrients their pets need. Raw dog food diets, however, are gaining popularity. Dog owners and breeders who use the B.A.R.F. diet have testified to its effectiveness in keeping their animals in good health and disease free.

Click here to read more of Incorporating The B.A.R.F.
