In the beginning, Labradors were bred for their ability to act as retrievers of birds such as the pheasant and that is how they got the name Labrador Retriever. Nowadays however, there are different Labrador types including the Yellow Labrador that is a very popular family pet dog though he can also be used as an assistance dog for those having disabilities or even as rescue and search dogs. In fact, Yellow Labradors are excellent companion dogs that also enjoy playing and love it most when they are given a lot of attention and affection.
