There are times, of course, where the barking is not warranted. You cannot simply ignore it and hope it will go away. In these cases, retraining of the dog is often necessary to correct the problem.

There are many methods that you can use to overcome a dog that barks too much. You can try a spray water bottle, a citronella collar or a bark collar that gives a small zap to the dog when it barks. There are other training methods that you can do at home by using a dog training course. This is a cheaper and more humane method than most others.
