Pet Adoption Rescue Is A Sad Necessity In This Country
The act of pet adoption rescue is a profound activity that tragically takes place in this country on a daily basis, much too often. All types of animals are abused, neglected or discarded as if the bonds that they have established with human beings are of no significance whatsoever.
The animal shelter where most abandoned street dwelling animals eventually end up will sadly put them to death because adoptee families are hard to find. In every town, city and state in these United States this tragedy continues to play out on a daily basis.
There are just too many pets born in this country every year and the lack of loving homes for each pet makes the need for pet rescue burdensome. The problem of overpopulation by animals that are unwanted would be much less if cat and dog owners would take more of a responsible role by neutering and spaying their pets.
Countless unnamed individuals along with the Humane Society are tirelessly hard at work attempting to find homes for as many pets as they can, before they are eventually euthanized. Most pet adoption agencies, which are made up of volunteers, provide dignified care to cats, dogs and other pets by the individuals who give of their precious time.
Experts in the area of pet rescue do not recommend that people buy their next pet from a local pet store. Quite often these animal were bought from “puppy mill” settings where profit is the only consideration. At these puppy mills, squalid, atrocious and generally inhumane conditions exist for the cats, dogs and other animals.
Those who deal with pet adoption rescue contend that purchasing an animal from a pet store just perpetuates the cycle of abuse by supporting puppy mills. Therefore, their suggestion is to get your next pet from your local SPCA or pet adoption center so that you can not only find a great pet, but can contribute to ending animal abuse.
In an ideal world, all pets that are born would receive a loving, caring home. In reality, many pets are treated simply as a commodity and are abused and neglected by their breeders. It is really sad to see animals treated inhumanely because we, as a people, should honor the dignity of every living creature on this earth.
Get a local pound or pet shelter pet if you want to be part of the solution that will lessen the need for pet adoption rescues in this country. Spay or neuter all dogs or cats when appropriate to make sure there are no unintended or unwanted pregnancies. And finally, since your pet’s life is so short on this earth, provide the best love and care so it has a happy and healthy life.
