I am a total animal lover, and have three gorgeous dogs, trouble is, they always seem to want to use their beloved pet doors.

To help me out from going crazy, I had two of the pet doors installed in our home, making it easy for them to come and go whenever they wanted to.

It seems though that I must really enjoying buying pet door replacement flaps. Considering ours break down every 6 months or so it’s not surprising.

So I go down to the pet shop to buy more replacement flaps. Ho Hum. Funnily enough, because I am in there nearly every few weeks, the store owner calls me by my first name.

Jim, the store owner laughs when I tell him why I am here, again. he knows right where to go, and gets the parts for me without even asking which ones. If it wasn’t for my dogs enjoying a game called chase the butteflies then perhaps I wouldn’t have to come down here so often.

Anyway, Jim sells me the replacements for both of the dog doors, setting me back almost $40. Ok, I can live with that, I just wish it wasn’t so often, if you know what I mean.

What I don’t like about these flaps is that they wear down too quickly. What I mean is that the hinges keep on wearing and becoming tired, eventually breaking.

Even my dogs enjoy chewing on the flaps themselves.

Once they’ve been chewed they let in the cold air and a very poor flap. This then means the flaps start to rattle in the wind, and this really isn’t funny at night time.

We have tried the magnetic flaps but to be honest they make more noise once they start to wear, and it’s even more annoying.

Because of the cold drafts, the dogs prefer to come and stay in our room at night. Not really ideal though.

And unbelievably the neighbors dog has even let himself in to our home, and left his scent all over the place.

So, until recently, I’d say that we’ve been living in a stressful environment, just getting along with for the sake of getting along with it.

We tried a change of tact and have started looking at more well known brands. Ones with better ratings, but more expensive.

This has proven to be a godsend, and great lifeline for us because we thought we wouldn’t get anywhere. As a result we strongly recommend you look to a well known brand for yourself.
