The Multiple Benefits Of Atlanta Dog Walking

Our pets are like family. They are like our children. We want the best possible care for them without spending a fortune. Life in Atlanta is busy. You may work long hours and then have to suffer through traffic getting home. Your pet may be left alone all day. When you go out of town, you might be forced to board them. Neither of these situations is good for your pets. You should consider Atlanta dog walking.

First of all, let’s look at leaving your dog alone all day while you are at work. Dogs don’t like being left alone. Sure, they are fine for a little while. But they like to have company. And they like to get out and have exercise. Exercise is vital to a dog’s good health. If all you have time to do is take them out for a few minutes to do their business, they will become sedentary. This can lead to obesity, laziness, and poor health.

A dog walker will provide a full 30-45 minute walk. A full walk is needed to have a health benefit. A good long walk keeps the heart and lungs strong and keeps the blood flowing well. Fresh air also does wonders for health and mood.

When stuck indoors all day, a dog stores up energy and has no way to get rid of it. He may wreak havoc in the house while you’re gone by chewing things or going through the trash. Worse than that, he may be so used to being sedentary that he loses all interest in exercise at all. That’s when weight gain starts.

With a dog walker, you will find a happier, healthier pet. That is because while you were gone he had some company for a while and he got his exercise. He will be probably have had a nice nap too. Napping is normal for pooches. It is the continuous sleep that is a sign of lethargy.

For times when you have a business trip or want to take a vacation, pet sitters are a great alternative to boarding houses. At a kennel, all you get for your money is a cage for them to sit and somebody to serve dinner. Perhaps somebody will come by to take him for a walk. Any time he is out of his crate, there is concern about fighting with other dogs as well as the possibility of transmission of diseases. When they are in the crate, there is still the likelihood of contracting kennel cough which spreads through kennels like wildfire. Dogs get very stressed being locked away anyhow, especially with all the other dogs’ barking 24 hours a day.

Instead, pet sitters can come 3 times a day to give your dog some loving and of course take him out for his exercise. He also gets to have his normal surroundings, including his favorite spot to sleep and all his favorite toys.

Ultimately, dog walkers will save money. The price for watching multiple dogs is often the same as watching one dog. A kennel can’t say that. Not to mention the money you won’t have to fork out due to problems created by boarding them in the first place. You save money and your pets are happier.

Do you have a furry little friend? Do you work exhausting days or are planning on going on a trip without taking the friend? Atlanta Dog Walking helped us walk our dog when we were at work. There is also Atlanta Dog Boarding, which is great for travelers.
