Dog Owners – 12 Things You Should Know

As a dog owner, you, as well as your dog, require good behavior and discipline. While it can be fun and rewarding to own a dog, it’s also a big responsibility. It’s a lifetime commitment and one that you should take seriously.

Your dog is totally dependant on you for his health and wellness. Make sure you live up to this important job.

Learn these 12 rules to be the best dog owner you can be:

01. Obey all laws concerning your dog. Get your dog the proper license and vaccinations. Follow the leash laws and always clean up after your dog.

02. Try to spend at least a half hour per day playing with your dog. You don’t want your pet to feel unloved and lonely.

03. Know about the importance of spaying or neutering your dog. Learn more about it before you make any decision.

04. Don’t forget to take your dog on regular visits to the vet. Yearly checkups, dental exams and vaccinations are all important.

05. Your dog need lot’s of regular exercise. Give him at least thirty minutes a day. He’ll love you for it too.

06. Make sure you’re dog’s papers are in order – get him an ID tag and the proper license. Get your dog chip implanted. If you lose your dog you’ll be able to find him.

07. You receive unconditional love from your dog. Treat him the same way. Be good to your dog and never beat or hurt him. Treat your dog with loving kindness and be a good friend to him.

08. Be sure to always clean up well after your dog. This prevents infections and illness.

09. Keep your dog groomed. Try to groom him several time per week. This is a great way to bond with your dog too.

10. Make sure your dog is getting the proper nutrition. Give him the best food you can afford.

11. Teach your dog to socialize. This will help him be comfortable around other pets and people. Take your dog to public places, like parks.

12. Your dog needs and wants training. Giving your dog the proper training will let you know how much you care for him.

I hope these rules for dog owners will help you to be the best dog owner possible. Be a good dog owner and your dog will love and respect you for it.
